True Love - A Postcard?

It's postcard sized so that's what I'm going with.   However, you can't drop it in the mail or write a message on the back (not a long one at least).
The heart is ice resin so you can see right through it. I used the same process as I did on my Perfume Bottle Resin tutorial but instead of little glass spheres, I added some flecks of silver to spice it up.
The bird is paper clay, painted white and glittered, after all what bird doesn't want to be coated in glitter.  It is meant to look like he is holding the "True Love" banner.
Of course it has a fabulously romantic couple (True Romance Collage Sheet from Alpha Stamps).
This is the back, just enough room to write your lover a little message.
I made two of these (because I am always worried about how the ice resin will cure) and they both turned out so I have this one for sale (super cheep) in my etsy store along with some other Free Valentines day art.  So please stop by.

Please consider joining this fun swap.  It would be great to swap my tags out with y'all.

Smoke Get's in Your Eyes Shrine + Giveaway!

Alpha Stamps has come up with yet another Fabulous Kit, the Arabian Nights Kit (pictured below).  The Collage Sheets are absolutely stunning so I just had to create something with them.

Not everything that I used is in the kit.
I used the ATC Hutch Shrine Kit as the base of my piece and altered it's shape by adding House Shaped Die-Cut Chipboard.  My intention was to make it look like an audience was watching a dancer.
Originally I was going to light up the box.  However, when I drilled the hole and put the light in, the light did not disperse the way I wanted it to.  So I had to patch up the back.  Regardless I think this turned out very fun.
And I'm giving it away!

When in doubt, Wear Red ~ Paper Dress Shop Part 3

Remember this?
Yes, I know it has been a long time, summer just crept up on me.
If you don't remember and want to see more the outside of the house is HERE and the inside is HERE
This item is now on sale in my Etsy Shop HERE
Today I am sharing the dresses that I made to go along with the shop.
All the collage images used are from Alpha Stamps.
I made 3 free standing paper dresses.  Each one hangs on a dress form stand.
This skirt and shirt combination has yellow fiber and a Japanese themed embellishment.
Every woman needs a fun sun dress.
Blue fibers, sequin leaves and liquid pearls dress this dress up.
The last free standing dress is this fun red dress.  Enhanced with gold liquid pearls.
There are also 2 hanging dresses.  The pink and purple dress has glitter accents and the blue dress has purple liquid pearl accents.
I made price tags for each dress.
Well, that is all for the "When in doubt, wear red" dress shop.
This was a very fun project and I hope it finds a great home.

Since I have shared this creation with Paper Saturdays every step of the way I am linking up again.

When in doubt Wear Red ~ Paper Dress Shop Part 2

A few weeks ago I shared the outside of my "When in Doubt, Wear Red" Consignment Shop.  You can view it HERE
I linked it to a fabulous party, Paper Saturdays hosted by Manopopjes
Almost everyone that plays along makes wonderful light colored fun pieces and I was inspired by it and that's how this little paper house came to be.
So without further ado, here is the inside.
I am going to save the wardrobe to share next week..
Like all good shops there must be a mirror.  This one has glitter all around it to make you look even more glamorous.
Then there is the accessories wall.
And of course a cute little window to let in natural light.
There are many many more details I could go on and on about but I think the pictures speak for themselves.
I hope you like it.

When in doubt, wear red ~ Paper Dress Shop

I ran across Manon's blog a few months ago and her bright happy style and love of paper houses inspired me to try my hand at creating my own.

Welcome to
"When in doubt, wear red,"
a retro consignment shop with some very eclectic touches.
the brick work is made out of paperclay that I stamped into and then washed with brown ink.
Gardens have grown wild all around the shop.

The windows are that old lovely thick glass with ripples in it.
And out back hidden in the garden is where the magic happens.
I constructed a mini box to hold all the bits and pieces that make the shop light work.
Yep, there is a working light inside the shop!
Stop by next week to see the inside.

Love in a Twilight Garden ~ Spring Fling

Today is the due date for the Spring Fling 4x4 Swap at Alpha Stamps.
I love my creation but I fear I missed the "spring" mark and hit more of a Midsummer dream theme.
I had a lot of fun making this creation.  Mixing Collage images. paint, a variety of fun shaped sequins and of course glitter.

I can't wait to see what everyone else has made.

I'm linking up with my new Saturday Obsession come check out all the outstanding art!

Witches Brew Paper Craft

Today is Day 6 of Pagan Cultures Blog Anniversary.
For today Magaly went with the theme

Crafts

I have to wonder if she meant the craft practiced by Witches or just crafts in general
According to Wikipedia

A craft is a pastime or a profession that requires some particular kind of skilled work. In a historical sense, particularly as pertinent to the Middle Ages and earlier, the term is usually applied to people occupied in small-scale production of goods. The traditional terms craftsman and craftswoman are nowadays often replaced by artisan and rarely by craftsperson.

But one could also take today's theme to mean Witchcraft

I'm going with the first definition today.
I named this piece Witches Brew.
Outside the Garden a Witches Familiar prowls while inside...
A group of Witches gather to share a bit of Witches Brew.  Now what's inside those little tea cups is entirely up to you.
I found a list of traditional herbs used in Witchcraft and peppered them throughout the page.

I am also going to link up to
 Manonpopjes
After all I did create this piece using paper even if it was for a different reason.  And yes, I know that the subject matter is a bit odd but I just found this linky party, it's new and I want to support it.

I hope you enjoy my interpretation of today's theme and come join in Manopopje's...Art Party
