Rainbow Garden
This past week when I picked up my daughter from school she said she wanted to make a "rainbow garden." I'm not 100% sure where she got the idea or what she had in mind but this is what I came up with.
The bright containers are sand buckets that I picked up at Michael's for a dollar each. She picked out the colors. Then we headed over to Lowes where she was quite upset to discover that pink was not a color or the rainbow and that there wasn't a green flower.
We compromised and picked a white flower to go in the green bucket and I told her we would plant some pink flowers this weekend. Where is still to be determined, have to figure that one out fast.
I love the bright yellow Gerber daisy and her favorite is the purple, which isn't a surprise since purple is her favorite color. The first thing she did when I turned my back was pick the orange poppy. I told her if she picks them all they won't have any more flowers and then she got upset. This morning she was thrilled when she discovered an orange poppy blooming and she hasn't picked any of the other flowers yet.
I'm linking this up to Fishtail Cottage's Cottage Flora Thursday's...come see all the wonderful gardens!

This is so cute. What a great way to start earning her green thumb. If she has her heart set on pink and green, may I suggest evening primrose for pink and parsley or basil for green (also helps her learn about cooking)?
i love the idea of a rainbow garden and great idea for the containers!
I'd like to have a rainbow garden myself - just like this one! How very lovely. Penny
What a fabulous idea and also a great way to learn colors for wee ones. ♥O
That's a great idea! I'll think about stealing it (the idea), but don't worry, it won't get anywhere.
So great to see you linking up to Cottage Flora Thursday's! So excited to meet new gardeners! i adore your rainbow garden (those pots are adorable!) xoxo, tracie
This is gorgeous Caroline. I need to make myself one to cheer me up, because we got 4" more of the white stuff overnight!!! When's Kevin return? Hang in there and keep making pretty things!

I love the rainbow garden, what a wonderful way to encourage her to learn and create at the same time.
Thank you for stopping by to visit me this week also.
Blessings Kelsie
Those are the cutest, colorful pots! What a neat idea your sweet daughter had. I love it!
Oh I love this post. Gardens and flowers through a child's eye are amazing , and reality rarely makes any difference to them. Why can't a rainbow have pink in it?
One of my granddaughters and I made a fairy garden a few years ago and I thing that will forever be one of my favorite memories. She is one of my most uniquely creative grandchildren too and I count myself blessed to have shared just a bit of this with her. You are blessed to be enjoying creativity with your daughter and aware of it, now!
What a good idea you have presented, thank-you.
