Hoppy Easter!

This year to celebrate Easter I decided to take part in blissfullART's Easter Tin Swap.
What I ended up with is one of the most major deviations from a plan I have ever done but I love how it ended up (despite numerous mistakes).
You can't tell in the photo's but the tin background is shimmery gold over a textured light pink.
My plan always called for a decorated egg on the inside.  I carefully cut, sized and decorated the egg.  It wasn't until after I glued it into the tin that I realized I had decorated the wrong half, the bigger half, so now the tin doesn't close :(
Just look at that detail!  I love how this turned out.  The mold is a silicone mold-ornaments and settings.  The piece needed to be flexible to wrap around the tin so I used hot glue.  Yep, you read that right, I put hot glue in the mold.  Waited a few minutes, popped it out and spray painted it gold.
Inside I ended up making the non closure worse by adding the grass at the base of the bunnies feet.  I guess at this point it didn't matter, it was never going to close and the grass is fun.  Still frustrated me.
I really hope that my swap partner likes what I have created for her.  The one she made for me arrived a few days ago and I can't wait to share it with you it is a glitter tarts dream come true!
Thanks for stopping by!

Love Letter - Altered Cabinet Card

Isn't he a handsome devil!  Wouldn't you love to be his one true love?
This is my altered cabinet card for a BlissfulART swap.  I wanted it to be al things romantic, roses, lace, love letter and the heart is made of red seed beads.
My favorite part of this creation is my handmade rose.  Isn't it just gorgeous, almost as soft and lovely as the real thing.  I made some extra and you can purchase them in my Etsy store or make your own from some of the seam binding I have in my shop.
If you are visiting from the Grow Your Blog Hop, thanks so much for stopping by.  You can view my original post HERE.

Altered Witch Shoe

When the Altered Witch Shoe swap came up on BlissfulART swaps I jumped on it.
Immediately I knew I wanted to use this shoe.
It was my Grandmothers.  She was always a great supporter of my art and I know that she would love that her shoe was used by me in this manner.
Yes, I know it is supposed to be a witch...but can't some witches turn into bats?

I crackled a Bat image available from Alpha Stamps to embellish the toe, along with some seam binding flowers.
A few sprigs of black and glittery green twigs around my witch.

A black glittered bat hiding under the shoe.

And that's that.
I hope my partner likes it.

All White Tussie Mussie

My new obsession with Tussie Mussie's has continued.
I recently participated in an all white tussie mussie swap.
You can't see it but I used a white glitter to fill in the spaces the lace didn't cover.
I completed this piece with lots of lace bits, white seam binding, flowers that I made and some metal leaves that I spray painted white.

Waterhouse ATC Swap ~ Final piece

A few weeks ago I mentioned that Blissful ART Swaps was hosting a Waterhouse ATC Swap, this is my final piece that I created.
I used an image from Waterhouse Beauties Collage Sheet available at Alpha Stamps.
The colors that popped are not colors I normally work with but I had a wonderful time playing with the color palate of oranges and teals.

In the painting she is holding a fan so I decided to play that up a bit and created a fancy fan for her.
I can't wait to see what everyone else created! And of course I will share the beautiful ATC's with you.

Alice in Wonderland Tea Party Tin ~ by Kim S.

Sometimes I wonder if the postman knew what was inside all those boxes if she would leave them for me at all.
These are the goodies I received most recently in a BlissfulARTswap from my partner Kim of Tabitha Lenox....
This is a 1 on 1 swap with the theme
Alice in Wonderland Tea Party in a Tin
Kim said "I wanted my tin to look like something you would find tucked away in an old cupboard, you slip it in your pocket and you're ready for a tea party!" and I think she accomplished that with flying colors.
Wanna see what's inside???
The White Rabbit dashing by the Mad Hatters Tea party.

It was so hard to get a good picture, this one just doesn't do it justice.  but each little rhinestone has been grunged up just a bit and the words are
"Could you tell me please which way" at the top and the bottom "I ought to go from here?"
There are so many neat little elements on in this tin that I could go on and on.
The tea party is amazing isn't it!
I like to imagine that the story got all mixed up and the butterfly is the Caterpillar joining the tea party.
Don't you think he would make the most interesting tea conversationalist ha!

The little tray with all the tea pots and that cup of tea and I am going to have to ask her what she used to give the gold effect on her elements.
On top of the fabulous tin she sent me this journal.
I journal a lot!  I've already started writing in this one.  Everything she stamped and all the colors and collage images just go so well together.
And I can't get over how simply tying these lovely fibers along the side has added so much.

Thank you so much Kim!
You have no idea how precious these pieces are to me, I will cherish them always.
Now I must get to work on yours...I think I might have a secret weapon on it's way!

Closing out 2012 ~ Secret Santa Art Share

Well with 2012 almost an entire week behind us I  feel terrible that I haven't shared what I got from my BissfulART Swaps Secret Santa.
Wendy of Art by Wendy way outdid herself!
Look how gorgeous the outside box is.
And when i opened it it was prettier than this, this is what it looked like after I ohhed and ahhed over it.  But it was filled to the brim!
Inside a small (not really small at all) wooden box she had 2 cookie cutter ornaments for me.
Just look at all that bling!
She included 2 mini journals.
Good thing I use things like I drink coffee.
Isn't this the sweetest little bag, I just love the image.
and check out all the detail on the trim.
There were 2 white blinged out dragonflies.
They are now holding up some ribbon strewn across my studio.
A Gorgeous Ornament with a hug drop Chrystal!
And to finish it all off she put in this fabulous Mermaid themed piece.  She did that because she knows how much I love mermaids:)

Everything is fabulous, it puts my box that I sent out to shame.
Thank you Wendy!
