Favorite Song

This week Arty Girlz Challenge is...

We would like you to use your 'Favourite Song' as inspiration for your creations this week.

How does one choose a favorite song? Esecially when they are addicted to music like I am. So here is what I did. I selected a song that's poetry I find lovely and beat mesmerising. I selected the song Faster Than Angels Fly by Big and Rich. I can't find it to play so here are the lyrics

A modern day Romeo and Juliet American tragedy
Low rent, High rise lovers who met at the end of Coronado Street
Crucifixes made in California gold
Two worlds bound to collide
Heaven can't help you if you go
Faster than angels fly

Chorus:
Well they burn the candle at bothe ends
As they danced into the flame
Making love and making plans
Driving Mother Mary insane
Strong as the beads of a rosary
Never too young to die
Some souls only know one speed
Faster than angels fly
Ghost-haunted barrio in Hollywood
Graffiti stained wailin' wall
Dead-end street gang up o no good
But to make a retribution call
Sweet innocence caught in crossfire's fate
Too late to draw the line
Bullets can blow your dreams away
Faster than angels fly

Repeat chorus:
They were still holding hands
When all hell broke loose
They both left this world
With more than most true lovers do

Repeat chorus:
Strong as the beads of a rosary
Never too young to die
Some souls only know one speed
Faster than angels fly

Hope you enjoy!

Birds Nesting

Today I decided to combine as many challenges as I could into one. I managed to get four out of the five that I like on Tuesdays!

Daring Dardmakers "For my dare this week I would like you to make a card that incorporates beads somewhere in the design…..it’s as easy as that!It can be one bead, lots of beads, big beads, and small beads, whatever you like as long as there’s at least one on your card somewhere."

Arty Girlz Challenge is "wings"

Created Byhand "Create art using a tag! Use a pre-made tag or create one yourself! Alter a tag or add a tag to your art this week! Use tags with sprays, washes, distress inks, rubber stamps, dye inks, paints, papers, collage images, eyelets, ribbons, etc… ! Create a card, ATC, tag, altered art, 4 x 4, inchie, skinny (3 x 5 inches) and add a tag! Post your art to your blog, picture trail or photo sharing site, then post a direct link to your challenge art under the comments section to share with others! Have fun and make art!!! "

and last but not least

Take Part Tuesday's challenge is "nests"

So I started with my base being a tag and I stamped Tim Holtz's tree with a soft sage ink and then over stamped the doodle bird from Alpha Stamps with brown ink. Next I spritz the entire tag with an iridescent gold shimmer. While that was drying I cut out an image from Paula's Kit club Bunny Love Kit, it is a scene of a bird being born I cut the inside of the image out and just used the frame, keeping the nest. Next I added the seed beads, they are sewn on using fishing wire. And as a finishing touch I glued down some Spanish moss to accent the nest a bit more and added diamond glaze to the birds. The ribbon finishes off the tag.

Hope you enjoy!

The Queen of Green

I started working on the Arty Girlz challenge a little to late in the evening last night to get it uploaded. Plus I had a terrible time with the layout. Anyway…

The Arty Girlz challenge this week is…

The challenge this week is to have the colour green on your project, as usual you choose the format

I use a lot of green being that it is one of my favorite colors. So instead of using something I had already made I decided to make something new and really challenge myself to only use the color green. Everything is stamped, stained or embossed using various shades of green. The ribbons are also all different shades and textures of the theme color green. The background paper has a number of different shades of green on it.

I hope you enjoy!

The Beauty of Time Passing

The celestial theme is one of my very favorites so when Arty Girlz put out a call for anything stamped of course I went straight for my favorites. The only thing on this card that is not stamped are the clock hands…an amazing feat for one afternoon…LOL I think I have gone cross eyed cutting out all those fine details.

I hope you enjoy!
