Hey all and welcome to my Celebrate Oz 2013.
I was thrilled when Olde Baggs 'n stuft Shirts asked me to play along and I knew right off what I was going to do..
While we have to believe that "Rome wasn't built in a day" I can tell you without a doubt that the Yellow Brick road wasn't.
I picked the Poppy scene from the book/movie to alter. As you can tell there are no poppies and only half the road is done.
Eventually the stained glass yellow brick road will be finished, you can see the text through it.
And my poppies will be made out of the orange fabric you can see. With a few paper ones (I'm working on a Collage Sheet that will include them).
I have been very busy with all things Oz since being asked to join this hop and I do have quite a few other Oz pieces done. This one is an ATC I did using emerald velvet fabric as the background.
If you click the above image it will take you to My Lollipop guild Dome post.
Also, when I went looking for Oz images they were all copyrighted, so I got to work on making some Collage Sheets (copyrighted by me and Alpha Stamps), but legal to use in your artwork.
I finished 4 before the deadline but have two more in the works right now and more ideas. So keep watching for them.
Now for a little Giveaway!
As you can see from my unfinished piece, I used book print on the canvas, yes, it is a copy of The Wizard of Oz. However I only used the pages with script on them, keeping all the images preserved. That is what I have for you.
Here is a sample of one of the images in this particular copy of The Wizard of Oz.
To enter my giveaway just leave a comment telling me you want to be entered and leaving me a way to get in contact with you. I will select a winner next Friday March 22nd.
For an extra chance to win a piece of my art check out my March Monthly Giveaway, I created an Oz themed ATC to giveaway.
I really do wish had been able to finish my piece, but sometimes life gets in the way :( One day it will be done and I will share it.
I love the Wizard of Oz, clearly, and hope you have enjoyed my post.
Hugs to all!
